Performance and software:
The Redmi Note 12 4G is powered by the new Snapdragon 685 chipset, based on the 6nm manufacturing node.
The new mid-range SD685 SoC has a similar performance to the Snapdragon 680. The Snapdragon 685 is constructed with an identical 4+4 CPU core configuration similar to its predecessor but with increased clock speeds. The new SD 685 chipset contains 4 Cortex-A73 cores, each clocked at 2.8 GHz, as well as 4 Cortex-A53 cores, which run at 1.9 GHz.
Speaking of GPU we get Adreno 610 to take care of the graphics tasks. The Xiaomi Redmi 12 4G runs on Android 13, with MIUI 14 on top.
According to the Performance test of Redmi Note, 12 4G performed by GSM Area “ The Snapdragon 685 performs well in the multi-core CPU benchmark scenarios but fails to impress in GPU-heavy and combined workloads due to its less-than-ideal Adreno 610 GPU.”
Camera:
The Redmi Note 12 4G features a triple rear camera setup which is a slightly different setup than its 5G counterpart.
- Main Camera: 50MP f/1.8
- Ultrawide Camera: 8MP f/2.2
- Macro Camera: 2MP f/2.4

The main camera comes with a 50MP, 1/2.76″, 0.64µm sensor with a wide f/1.8 aperture. Similarly, we get an 8MP f/2.2, 1/4.0″, 1.12µm ultrawide lens with a 120-degree field of view. The device comes with a 2MP f/2.4 lens for macro photography like most other midrange smartphones in its price category.
On the front, the device has a 13 MP shooter with f/2.5 aperture and a 1/3.0″ sensor size.
Battery:
The new Redmi Note 12 Pro 4G is backed up by a large Li-Po 5000 mAh non-removable battery that supports fast charging up to 33W.
Connectivity and other specs:
Regarding connectivity, The Redmi Note 12 4G comes with dual SIM support (Nano-SIM, dual stand-by), WiFi 5, Bluetooth 5.2, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port. Similarly, the Redmi 12 4G also comes with a dedicated microSD card slot for expandable storage.
