Realme GT 5G In Nepal Overview
Display:
The Realme GT 5G comes with a 6.43-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED Display. It has a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels with 409.3 PPI. The Realme has done a great job in the display section.
It also supports a 120 Hz refresh rate backed up by the 360 Hz touch sampling rate. It is also HDR 10 + certified. It has 1000 nits of peak brightness.
Overall the display quality is top-notch. In addition, the 120 Hz refresh rate gives a smooth and fluid experience while using the Realme GT 5G.
Considering the expected Realme GT price in Nepal, it has got an impressive display.
Design and Build Quality:
The Realme GT 5G is 8.4mm thin and weighs approximately 186 G. It is comfortable to hold on hands. It comes with a plastic clear case, SIM card tool, and charger included out of the box.
We get a Gorilla Glass 5 protection at the front and a glassy finish at the back.
On the left side, we get a volume button and a SIM card tray. Unfortunately, there is no micro SD card slot. There is a single secondary mic at the top.
At the bottom, we get a Type-C input, 3.5mm headphones jack. Also one of the two stereo speakers one at the bottom and one at the earpiece.
The Realme GT 5G comes in three different colors. Racing yellow, Sonic Silver, and Speed Blue. The Racing Yellow comes with a Dual Tone Leather design. It doesn’t attract any fingerprints.
The other two colors come with a glassy finish.
Camera:
The Realme GT 5G has a single-hole punch-out front camera and triple rear-facing camera setup.
It uses Gyro Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) rather than Optical Image Stabilization (OIS).
It is kind of a letdown for photographers and videographers.
Front camera:
The front camera of the Realme GT 5G is 16 MP with an f/2.5 aperture. This year we aren’t getting a dual punch-hole front camera as we saw in last year’s iteration.
It can record videos up to 1080p at 30 FPS. However, it is not a flagship-level camera.
To sum up, the performance of the front camera is average. It lacks a bit behind compared to its competitors.
Rear Camera:
We get a triple rear-facing camera set up in the Realme GT 5G as other smartphones in this price range. The Primary Camera of the Realme GT comes with a 64 MP Sony IMX 682 sensor with an f/1.8 aperture.
As I have already mentioned above it comes with EIS rather than OIS. It can shoot 4K videos up to 60 FPS.
It takes the 16 MP photo by default but you can bump it up all the way up to 64 MP for better quality. The image quality is crisp and sharp as expected from the Sony IMX 682 sensor.
Similarly, we get an 8 MP ultrawide camera with an f/2.3 aperture. It has a 119-degree field of view. The ultrawide camera can shoot up to 1080 at 30 fps. The picture quality taken from the ultrawide camera is not as good as the primary camera.
We also get a 2 MP macro camera with an f/2.4 aperture. It helps to take portraits and macro shots. To be honest the ultrawide camera does a better job than the macro camera in most of the smartphones in this price segment.
We are not getting a telephoto camera as expected in this price range.
Performance:
Now let’s talk about the real game changer its processor.
The Realme GT 5G is powered up by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Chipset. The Snapdragon 888 is a 5nm processor and it is the most powerful chipset on Android smartphones. It is said to be 25% faster than the snapdragon 865.
The Snapdragon 888 has an Octa-core CPU and Adreno 660 GPU that is 35% faster than Adreno 650.
The Realme has introduced Stainless Steel Vapor Chamber cooling system in the Realme GT 5G.
Most vapor cooling systems are made with 100% copper which does give you high thermal conductivity but low strength. Nevertheless, Realme claimed that the stainless steel vapor cooling system gives you 42% higher strength than the traditional copper vapor cooling systems.
It also solves the structural stability problems faced by the designs. In terms of performance, there is no compromise from Realme.
The Realme GT 5G is the most affordable phone that comes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888. Considering the expected price of the Realme GT in Nepal, it can be one of the best-performing smartphones in its price range.
The Realme has also introduced GT mode in the Realme GT 5G to unleash the maximum performance for gamers. It also comes with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage.
The Realme claimed that it has a sequential read performance of up to 2000 MB/S. Ultimately it helps for ultra-fast game loading and app startup.
The Realme CE 5G managed the Antutu score of 748943 points in my test.
Geekbench Score of the Realme GT 5G:
Single-Core Score | 1139 |
Multi-Core Score | 3485 |
Software:
The Realme GT 5G comes with a Realme UI 2.0 based on Android 11. It is nice and minimal and gives you a bunch of personalization.
The Realme UI 2.0 is the same as the OPPOS Color OS. It is because OPPO is actually the parent company of Realme.
That’s why we have all the personalization options as we see in the OPPO’S Color OS. The haptics is pretty light. But for this price range, it can be considered decent.
However, the Oneplus Oxygen OS is still the cleanest UI in Android smartphones.
Battery:
The Realme GT 5G is backed up by a 4500 mAh battery. It can easily give you at least 6-7 hours of screen on time. We get the 65 Watt SuperDart Fast Charger inside the box regardless it doesn’t support wireless charging.
Furthermore, Realme claimed that it can charge the Realme GT 5G fully from 0-100% in just 35 minutes.
Connectivity:
The Realme GT 5G supports smart 5G. It means that the Realme GT 5G intelligently perceives the surrounding signal environment and switches from 4G to 5G.
As a result, it helps to reduce power consumption by up to 30% and enhanced the wifi 6 support.
The Realme GT 5G also supports NFC, Bluetooth 5.2, and wifi 6.
Storage:
We get an 8/128 GB and max up to 12/256 GB storage option in the Realme GT 5G. Unfortunately, it doesn’t support the micro SD card. We get LPDDR5 RAM in the Realme GT 5G followed by the UFS 3.1 storage.
Pros and Cons
Pros | Cons |
---|---|
Comes with an excellent display with a 120 Hz refresh rate. | No micro SD card support. |
Snapdragon 888 delivers the Flagship Performance. | It has Average camera performance except for the main camera. |
65-Watt SuperDart Fast Charging. | There is no IP water and dust resistance. |
The Primary Camera takes great photos and videos. | The camera uses EIS rather than OIS. |
3.5 mm Headphone Jack. | No wireless charging. |
Conclusion:
The Realme GT 5G is certainly a stunning device. Personally, I feel the design is a bit outdated and traditional. The 64 MP Primary Camera with Sony IMX 682 censor does a good job.
Nevertheless, it is let down by its other camera’s performance. The 3.5mm headphone jack makes a comeback which was missing in its predecessor.
The Realme GT 5G is not alone in the flagship killer race. The Redmi Note 10 Pro and Motorola Edge S cost less and edge forward in certain sections. However, they lack the Snapdragon 888 chipset and fast charging.
Overall looking at the Realme GT 5G price in Nepal, the Realme GT 5G is a great all-around smartphone that comes with a few drawbacks.
