Apple has made the first public betas of iOS 16.6 and iPadOS 16.6 available to non-developers, following their release to developers. Macrumors Reports that these updates serve as a preparation for the upcoming iMessage Contact Key Verification feature.
Furthermore, Steve Moser, an iOS developer in his Tweet revealed that Apple has included references for Contact Key Verification in the initial beta version of iOS 16.6. Although it appears as a search result within the Settings, the feature remains inactive.
